Foodadventure
We have started our food introduction for real now. Taking influences from BLW - baby led weaning, which basically means: cut everything into sticks and go for it. Okay, maybe I need to read a bit more on that concept of food introduction! We started with honeymelon and apple on the weekend and Alice liked trying new foods, but Antonia is a bit reluctant. So yesterday she got apple slices in a kind of rattle with holes where the food is, so when the baby chews the juices are set free and the baby can't swallow any bigger pieces. Also great to have frozen watermelon instead of fresh fruit when the babies are teething and need something cold to chew on.
Anyway, she liked that better and it took the fear of new things from her. At lunch, I served pasta - farfalle - and apple slices and some mashed carrot. Alice absolutely loved it! She ate with her whole body and soul. Wonderful to watch! And today we continued with potatoes and cauliflower. Cauliflower was appreciated- even by Antonia! And Bernard was a happy dog catching all the bits falling from the high chairs. It is great to see the leaps they take from barely finding their mouth to eating and drinking.
I haven't really made food for them and have a bit of a bad conscience for their living on porridge and fruit purée. But from now on!
