My latest thing

As I work in a library, the stony path to literature isn't that stony. I have a stash of books on my bedside table and I've always enjoyed reading since I was a child. I remember the summers in Sweden, when I went to my local library (now closed down), skipped down the stairs to the children's area, found my shelf and took 10 books at once. This happened once a week, I was a quick reader! 😉 I think I won the star for the child who had read the most books over summer every single year. Anyway, I didn't want to indulge in childhood library memories, but get back to present reading habits. I've got my stash, which grows and grows and I barely manage to read a single book. It's both a time issue, a pain issue and of course a question of fatigue. I started reading e-books, when I sat on the train a lot in my previous job and that worked quite well, but the thing now, which I have been dreading a bit, are audiobooks. What a wonderful thing! I can lie in bed and can listen to the gentle voice, even if I am tired and if I fall asleep I can just go back. When I drive my car to work I can listen to a book instead of listening to the radio. The thing I had been dreading with audiobooks was that I wouldn't be able to loose myself in that magical world of the story. But it works! Must say I am quite happy to have found this possibility instead, as I have missed my magical world.
