Assessment

Had a doctors day today. Started with the midwife and gynaecologist, took my regular tests and then we listened to the triplets heartbeat for the first time. That was quite exciting! As my placentas are placed in front of the babies, I have had my problems in feeling them. But I've thought that I felt their heartbeat through the skin on my bump and that felt kind of cool that I was right about feeling them.
The midwife also took a look at my bump and checked my measurements: I'm as big as someone in week 33 with one child. So maybe it isn't that strange that I have some problems... Anyway, they weren't that impressed with me having a fever for nearly a week, although it is quite normal that colds and sicknesses take longer to get well from, when pregnant and they are quite firm with my having to slow down. I also feel that I can't move that much anymore and am extremely tired plus the pain of course. So now I am on sick leave to 100 % until the day the three pop out. Feels quite ok now. In fact it feels easier to take it slow when your gynaecologist tells you to, than if you yourself or your husband say the same thing. It isn't that easy to not work, if you have loads on your desk. But now I'll have to. My test results were okay as well, my iron value could've been a bit higher though, so I'll have to take my pills more regularly. But it seems like the food I eat provide me with the essentials.
Then my husband drove me to the hospital for the ultrasound scan. He hadn't been able to be part of the scans since January, when we realised we had three babies instead of 'only' twins, because it clashed with driving kids to school and other work activities. So it was interesting for him to see their growth and change. The babies are still further in their development stage in comparison to a single pregnancy. Up to six days to be precise. In two weeks time we'll be able to estimate their weight instead. I love seeing them and we even got a picture of baby A's face today:

Quite funny seeing her! She is one of the identical twins. Her twin sister was more into showing us her back and the other one thought hiding was a good idea too. Now I really know where they are placed in my bump and I understand why it hurts in certain places - for instance underneath the ribs on my left side, where one of them is lying.
Am so happy they are healthy, even if it takes my energy. Can't tell you how much I long for them.
I was so tired when we came home again and my fever came back. So I took a cold relief and went to bed after a quick lunch. Am trying to eat things that are kind to my belly and doesn't give me heartburn from hell. Got some advice on mixing apple vinegar with water and drinking that and when I told my mum, she recognised it from Latin America, where our family was located when I was born. So I'll definitely try that when it gets really bad again.
Anyway off to bed now! Nighty night dear readers! 😊💤
